Video and Full Interview Text

Leisa: Hello, I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we're going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Lisa Roth, Co-founder and Principal of Montgomery Roth Architecture and Interior Design, one of Houston's 100 fastest-growing businesses. Lisa, imagine we have a young businesswoman listening in, watching us online, or even sitting here with us today, and she's interested in your profession, architecture and interior design. What advice would you give her?

Lisa: I would give her the advice of, if you love it and you're passionate about it, just go for it. Nothing's better than waking up every day and getting to do something that you love. Followed by: a great education. You just can't beat that. That's something that's so important to the core of what we do. Internships are really important. Both in interior design and architecture, you have a three- to four-year internship. And so find an internship with a firm where you really have an appreciation for the type of work that they do so you can learn from them.

Leisa: That's great advice, Lisa. There you have it - extraordinary advice from another extraordinary woman. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, President and Co-founder of Content Active, Houston's leading web and mobile technology company. You can find me at contentactive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We'll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
